An Armenian parcel-gilt and silver Chalice
dated in Armenian 1020/ A.D 1571

of typical form in three sections, the exterior of the cup inscribed in Armenian and enveloped within a foliate-shaped cup-holder embossed with putti and floral motifs, this in turn surmounted on a tombak baluster stand on a splayed foot incised with various bands of decoration, including roundels bearing cruciform motifs, trefoils, scroll and foliate motifs
20.4 cm. high

Footnotes

The inscription reads: 'In the memory of all, 1020'.

It is probable that the cup was used by Armenians of the Catholic Uniate faith.
