An Iznik pottery Tile
Turkey 1575-85

decorated in green, white and raised red reserved against a cobalt-blue ground, depicting a variety of stylised floral sprays in swirling arabesques with two prominent palmettes with cusped, white outer leaves, the remaining cobalt-blue ground filled with saz leaves, the bottom right corner with rope-twist border enclosing floral sprays, a triangular cartouche with a single floral spray, a thin white border to the top
24 x 24.2 cm.
