A 16 gauge German double barrel boxlock shotgun by Fischer

Serial no. 3965, 16 gauge. 29 inch barrels with matte concave rib marked Rich. Fischer Jr. Hofbuschenmacher Gera, R. Extractor. Scalloped boxlock action engraved with panels of scrollwork. Double triggers. Automatic safety. Checkered pistolgrip stock and fore-end of dark, figured walnut. Horn buttplate and pistolgrip cap. Sling swivels.
Condition: Very good. Barrels retain 60-70% blued finish with some light spotting and thinning to either side of fore-end. Clean bores showing light rings. Action showing some light pitting and retaining generous traces of nickeled finish. Fore-end showing wear to checkering and later coat of varnish. Buttstock showing crude re-checkering, scattered light marks and small chip at toe of butt with corresponding chip to buttplate.
