A lot of six canes
late 19th/early 20th century

Comprising: 1) Japanese L-shaped staghorn handle carved with a group of turtles in a stream; applied signature panel; sterling ferrule; 33 inch faux-bamboo partridgewood shaft. 2) Elephant ivory head of triangular section incised SH above narrow gold ferrule; 34 inch ebonized shaft of conforming shape with horn tip. 3) Ebonized handle in the form of an elephant's head with ivory tusks and silver trunk and ears; silver ferrule 32 1/2 inch faux-bamboo shaft. 4) L-shaped elephant ivory handle relief-carved with a slouch hat hanging above a fringed hunter's bag; 25 1/2 inch maple (?) shaft with bone tip. 5) Bone head carved in the form of a bird's head with mother-of-pearl eyes; white metal ferrule; 23 inch shaft with sprig nubs. 6) Slightly crooked handle of amber, elephant ivory ferrule covered by a pierced gilt brass ring, 33 inch malacca shaft with bone tip.
Condition: 1), 2) excellent; 3) wear to ebonized finish; 4), 5) Marks to shaft. 6) Amber showing wear and discoloration.
