A unique Illinois National Guard long service medal in solid gold

In the standard form of ING long service medals, but the entire in solid gold, reverse of suspension brooch marked Tiffany & Co. - 18.K, while the planchet is marked 24K at the bottom. Reverse engraved No. (with no number following), and Captain A.L. Bell - Replaced by the 1st Infantry I.N.G. in recognition of his services in rebuilding the Armory. Burned April 25th 1893. Lacking ribbon. Weight: 2.28 oz./64.6 grams.
Condition: Extremely fine.
