An Imperial Russian general officers kiver
early 20th century

The red wool shako with black crown edged with silver bullion lace, wide silver lace band at the base, black leather brim with silver-plated rim, silver-plated frontplate and silver bullion cords with white metal buttons bearing the Romanoff eagle. Leather-backed brass chinstraps, the buttons of silver-plated copper. Interior with white kid sweatband and white cotton lining.
Condition: Wool showing some minor moth nips. Plume and cockade missing. Lace showing some fraying. Interior with later stiffening, the lining and sweatband possibly restorations.
