A French 2nd Empire cuirassier's ensemble

Comprising: 1) Breast and backplate; both marked for the Imperial Armory at Chattellerault, dated 1865 and numbered 630; with original brass shoulder straps. 2) A Pattern 1845 other ranks cuirassier's helmet; of standard pattern, the back of the skull with maker's mark LP.
Condition: 1) Showing areas of spotting/light pitting; shoulder straps missing much of the leather backing; waistbelt missing. 2) Missing the bearskin turban; side plume missing; chinscales missing leather backing, the bolts incorrect replacements; much of padded sweatband remaining.
