A Victorian regimental drum for the 42nd Royal Highland Regiment, the Black Watch
circa 1886-98

The brass drum emblazoned with the regimental insignia flanked by battle honors from Guadaloupe, 1759 to Kirbekan Nile, 1884-85 and maker's markings for Henry Potter & Co., Ltd. of London. Together with a letter dated 1998 from Henry Potter & Co. stating that this drum is from their collection and retains the original Victorian era emblazoning and shows only restoration to the ropes and heads, as needed.
Condition: Fine to excellent. Some chipping to paint at the rims.
