A Canadian regimental drum for 1st Battalion the Elgin Regiment

By Henry Potter & Co. of Charing Cross Road, London. The red and blue drum painted with the regimental badge and battle honors for Somme 1916, '18, Ypres 1917, '18, Arras, 1917 and Amiens.
Condition: Excellent. Top fitted with glass insert as a table.

Footnotes

Note: The Elgin Regiment was first formed in 1866 but, as the 25th Regiment was disbanded in 1903 and then reformed in 1904. It was again reformed as the 91st Battalion in 1915 as part of the Canadian Expeditionary Force and served with distinction throughout World War I. Disbanded after the war, the 1st Battalion was formed in 1921 and perpetuates the 91st Battalion. During World War I they were re-designated the 25th Regiment and were converted from an infantry unit to an armored unit.
