An Moroccan snaphaunce rifle
19th century

The 58 inch .58 caliber retained by nine long brass capucines decorated with punched and rocker-engraved designs. Breech with integral rear sight and struck with three deep marks. Snaphaunce lock of typical form. Brass triggerguard. Stock with wide, flared butt decorated with panels of silver wire inlaid scrolls, florettes and, in front of the lock, a short inscription.
Condition: Very good. Grey metal showing scattered light pitting. Sound wood showing light marks and some insect holes One capucine with partially open seam.
