A cased Tranter's patent No. 2 breech-loading revolver by Thomas
marked for the Montreal Ocean Steamship Company

Not serialized, .32 Rimfire. 3 1/2 inch octagonal barrel marked T. Blissett South Castle St. Liverpool. Blued finish. Gripstrap engraved M.O.S.S.Co. "Nova Scotian." Complete with original burlwood veneered and blue baize-lined case. Lid with brass escutcheon inscribed as the gripstrap. Interior of lid with Blisset trade label having loading instructions for Breech Loading Revolver. Partitioned interior with three lidded compartments, the pulls of turned horn.
Condition: Fine to excellent. Gun retains 70-80% dark blue finish showing flaking on topstrap, gripstraps and sides of frame adjacent to grip. Excellent grips. Case exterior with numerous small marks. Lining showing minor wear and staining.

Note: The Nova Scotian was a steamship owned by the Montreal Ocean Steamship Company. She was commissioned in 1858, rebuilt in 1873 and scrapped in 1893.
