A brass-mounted continental flintlock pistol
circa 1800

The 6 5/8 inch two-stage barrel in .54 caliber smoothbore with banded muzzle and moulded girdle. Unmarked lock with slight engraving. Brass furniture of somewhat crude quality showing simple engraving. Full walnut stock with raised panels framing lock and counterplate and relief-carved with a leaf form at the rear of the barrel tang.
Condition: Very good. Metal with dark patina showing scattered light pitting. Several screwheads badly marred. Sound wood showing light marks.
