A French flintlock pistol
late 18th/early 19th century

The 6 1/2 inch octagonal .60 caliber smoothbore barrel stamped with the mark of Jean Nicholas Le Clerc, (Der Neue Stockel, a187, p. 224), the left flat with crown over M. Unmarked lock. Plain iron furniture. Full walnut stock with checkered grip and flat buttcap.
Condition: Good. Grey metal showing scattered light pitting. Trigger spring fatigued. Stock with scattered light marks, the front 1 1/2" of the fore-end replaced.
