A silver-mounted Middle Eastern flintlock pistol
early 19th century

The 10 inch tapered round .60 caliber barrel profusely inlaid with engraved brass banding and scrollwork with a stylized panoply at the breech. Engraved lockplate with stepped tail, beveled rim and indecipherable inscription. Engraved silver furniture, the triggerguard bow and buttcap cast and chased in the European export fashion. Full stock with inlet checkered panels at wrist and fore-end.
Condition: Very good. Grey metal showing some minor pitting. Wood showing repaired cracks and some restoration to fore-end.
