A continental flintlock pistol
probably German, second half 18th century

The 8 inch two-stage .62 caliber barrel with molded girdle and faceted breech section showing traces of engraving and brass inlays. Unmarked lock. Brass furniture molded with scrollwork. Full walnut stock with relief-carved panels and scrollwork.
Condition: Very good. Barrel and lock showing wear, areas of light pitting and old reblued finish. Rear triggerguard tang cracked, buttcap missing small piece at tip. Stock with scattered marks and minor chipping, front 2 1/2 inches of fore-end restored, wrist cracked and repaired.
