A Scottish all-steel flintlock pistol by John Campbell
Doune, circa 1720-30

The 9 3/4 inch .44 caliber two-stage barrel engraved overall with scrolls and strapwork. Lock signed John Campbell. Undecorated steel stock with ram's horn butt. Left side fitted with steel belthook, the base with pierced finial. Ball trigger and touch hole pick with spirally fluted tips. Original steel ramrod.
Condition: Very good. Grey metal showing some scattered light pitting. Barrel engraving showing some wear but generally clear. Tail of lock showing traces of engraved decoration. Tip of pan cover chipped.
