A pair of English boxlock flintlock screwbarrel pistols with associated case
early 19th century

Each with 2 3/8 inch tapered round brass barrel in .44 caliber. London view and proof marks. Engraved brass boxlock actions marked London. Half-cock safeties. Steel triggerguards. Flat-sided bag-shaped walnut grips, the sides and spines profusely inlaid with silver wire scrollwork and set with vacant silver escutcheons. Together with associated green velour-lined walnut case, the partitioned interior with two lidded compartments. Copper and brass powder flask marked Sykes.
Condition: Guns: Very good. Brass with scattered small marks and slight wear to engraving. Steel components with dark grey patina with some minor pitting. Excellent grips with minor marks and retaining all silver wire decoration. Case excellent, the interior relined.
