A Spanish percussion conversion belt pistol
first quarter 19th century

The 7 1/4 inch .69 caliber two-stage barrel with ringed muzzle, parcel gilt girdle chiseled with acanthus and faceted breech section inlaid with silver foliage framing a gilt crucifix. Unmarked patilla lock with period conversion to percussion, the long necked cock with dolphin head. Steel triggerguard with acanthus finial, the bow engraved with a wreath framing the gold-filled maker's mark Bustindui. Steel counterplate with 3 1/4 inch belt hook. Full walnut stock with checkered wrist.
Condition: Good. Grey metal showing areas of light pitting. Stock showing few light marks, some wear to checkering and broken through at wrist.
