A Spanish Ripoll miquelet belt pistol
probably third quarter 18th century

The 9 3/4 inch .65 caliber two-stage barrel with faceted breech inlaid with brass and bearing a crowned maker's mark Bus/oms, probably of Manuel Busoms. Unmarked patilla lock, the faces of the bridle and pan with chased decoration. Engraved brass furniture. Counterplate fitted with 5 inch steel belthook. Full rootwood stock.
Condition: Very good. Barrel and lock with scattered minor pitting. Butt missing cap. Stock with scattered light marks.
