A pair of German flintlock holster pistols by Lohrman
18th century

Each with 11 3/4 inch two-stage barrel in .70 caliber smoothbore. Breech sections showing traces of engraved decoration. Rounded banana-shaped locks signed Lohrman/Essen. Brass furniture chased with broad scrolls on a punched ground, the buttcaps modeled as lion masks. Full walnut stocks relief-carved with simple panels at the locks and counterplate and with leafage behind the barrel tangs and below the ramrod troughs. Horn-tipped ramrods.
