A fine U.S. Model 1866 Allin conversion breechloading rifle

Not serialized, .50 Centerfire. 36 inch bright steel barrel with sharp eaglehead proof and blued folding leaf rear sight. Blackened breechblock marked 1866 over eaglehead. Springfield lock dated 1863 Steel furniture and walnut stock of standard pattern.
Condition: Excellent. Barrel and furniture with bright steel which has been lightly cleaned and shows scattered light scratches and some very minor pitting. Breechblock retains 75-85% darkened finish. Cock retains 98% darkened casehardening. Lockplate showing some faded casehardening. Sharp wood with light storage marks and one bruise to right side of fore-end.
