A rare Cordier-Minier training/demonstrator rifle
circa 1862

The 16 inch tapered round barrel with integral percussion bolster linked directly to the cock by an 18 inch rod mounted on the right side of the stock. Rounded breech with long tangs, the upper tang marked C C, numbered 906 and fitted with an adjustable rear sight calibrated to 1100. Simple steel furniture. Walnut half-stock.
Condition: Very good. Grey metal showing areas of light pitting. Stock showing numerous light marks and staining, wrist with small hairline crack to left side.
