A scarce American flintlock blunderbuss
late 18th century

Unmarked 21 1/2 inch brass two-stage cannon barrel. Rounded lock marked 1791. Crude brass furniture. Full striped maple stock. Fore-end mounted with sling swivel.
Condition: Good. Barrel showing scattered marks and casting flaws. Lock showing wear, dark patina and areas of pitting. Top jaw of cock possibly replaced. Finial of buttplate cracked. Fore-end cap and sling swivel tube modern replacements. Refinished stock showing numerous repairs.
