A Winchester 2nd Model 1866 carbine

Serial no. 16764 for 1868, .44 caliber. 20 inch Henry-marked barrel with dovetailed fore-sight and original folding rear sight. Brass frame stamped in small letters on left front D.S. Makie/Ashland/Wi. Plain walnut stock and fore-end.
Condition: Good. Barrel and tube showing smooth brown patina. Front barrel band missing, the fore-sight a period replacement. Saddle ring removed during period of use, the screw apertures filled. Fore-end with short hairline crack to left front and full-length crack to right side. Buttstock showing considerable wear, scattered light marks and appears to have been sanded.
