A rare 1st Model Massachusetts Arms Company Wesson & Leavitt Dragoon percussion revolver

Serial no. 16, .40 caliber. 6 1/4 inch barrel with brass fore-sight. Topstrap marked Mass. Arms Co./Chicopee Falls. Lock marked Wesson's & Leavitt's Patent. Varnished walnut grip.
Condition: Very good. Metal with dark brown patina showing scattered marks, sharp markings and scattered patches of light pitting. Barrel shortened 1/8" during period of use. Wood showing numerous marks, wear to varnish and chipping at butt.
