A fine factory engraved Merwin Hulbert & Co. Pocket Army revolver

Serial no. 8520, .44 Winchester caliber. 3 1/4 inch barrel marked Hopkins & Allen Mfg. Co. Norwich, Conn. U.S.A. with patent dates. Later production model with top strap. Nickel-plated finish with gilt cylinder and casehardened trigger, triggerguard and hammer. Engraved overall with punched scrollwork framing diamond-shaped panels, the partitioned interiors highlighted in blue and red. Left side of frame with panel scene of rabbits. Elephant ivory grips.
Condition: Excellent. Retaining 96-97% nickel with some minor spotting and wear. Cylinder retains generous traces of gilt finish. Traces of blue and red highlights remain. Grips showing some shrinkage and minor chipping
