Serial no. 1011341 for 1943, .45 caliber. Type III with green parkerized finish. All standard government markings with FJA inspector's markings. Brown checkered plastic grips. With original magazine and original brown leather US holster, the belt loop marked Boyt/A.G.T.
Condition: Very good. Retaining 60-70% finish showing considerable edge and holster wear. Upper right of slide and front of triggerguard free of finish and showing some very minor pitting. Fine grips are possibly period replacements, the right side with one scratch. Sound but well-worn holster scuffed overall.

Note: Carried in the Burma Campaign by San Francisco native Staff Sgt. Simon 'Bud' Gansel of the 612th Field Artillery (Pack). The 612th served in India in 1943, Burma in 1944-45 and China in 1945. The unit saw considerable action as part of the 475th Infantry Combat Team.
