A rare cased Colt Bisley Flattop Target Model revolver in .44-40

Serial no. 185435 for 1899, .44-40 caliber. 7 1/2 inch barrel marked (Bisley Model) Colt Frontier Six Shooter. Target sights. Blued finish. Checkered hard rubber rampant Colt grips. With Colt factory letter confirming configuration and detailing shipment on June 3, 1899 to Montgomery, Ward & Co. in Chicago, Illinois. Together with an English leather case for a Flattop Bisley, the interior lined in blue velour and bearing the trade label of Thomas Bland & Sons of London. Included is a brass-headed cleaning rod.
Condition: Gun: Very good. Grey metal showing generous traces of blue finish in protected areas. Bore showing some light pitting. Grips with light wear, fading to color and with small chip at left rear toe and another at right front toe. Case excellent, the exterior with few light marks.
