A fine Colt Second Model Dragoon percussion revolver

Serial no. 10705 for 1851, .44 caliber. 7 1/2 inch barrel marked Address Saml Colt New York City. Cylinder with roll-engraved Indian Engagement scene and Model U.S.M.R. markings. Blued, casehardened and silver-plated finish. Varnished walnut grips.
Condition: Excellent. Forward section of barrel retains much thin blue finish with some pinpoint spotting and light scratches overall from an over aggressive cleaning. Barrel lug retains 96-97% dark blue finish showing edge wear and some small marks around wedge. Wedge numbered 607. Cylinder with 90% blue and excellent scene and markings. Lever showing very faded casehardening with some color to right side of lug. Frame and hammer showing much faded casehardening with some areas of color. Triggerguard/gripstraps with virtually all silver plating intact. Excellent grips with 99$ varnish and scattered small marks.
