A German Red Cross enlistedman's hewer

The 10 1/2 inch fullered sawback blade marked on the ricasso Ges/Geschutzt. Nickel-plated grip with checkered black bakelite gripscales. Black-painted scabbard with nickeled mounts. With zippered case from Thomas Wittmann.
Condition: Blade has been lightly cleaned and shows some very minor pitting. Grip mounts frosted, showing slight wear to raised areas and with some pinpoint bubbling. Excellent grips. Scabbard with some small areas of missing paint.
