Footnotes
Note: Repeal of the Dress Act of 1746, banning Highland dress, in 1782, along with the novels of Sir Walter Scott and a general interest in the past sparked the Highland Revival and the foundation of Highland clubs throughout Scotland and in London. This classic form of 15th/16th century Scottish two-handed sword was used as a bearing sword for clan occasions and was carried before the clan chieftain.
