A Danish small sword
early 19th century

Narrow, straight 29 3/4 inch blade of hexagonal section with 14 inch panel etched with floral scrolls and panoplies of armor. Silver-plated brass hilt comprising shell guard cast and chased with the coat-of-arms of Fredrick VI; monster head quillon; knucklebow with scrolls and beaded bands; pommel with panels of blossoms and laurel wreaths. Reeded mother-of-pearl gripscales. No scabbard.
Condition: Excellent. Slight wear to silver plating.
