A silver-mounted Ottoman shamshir
19th century

Sharply curve 32 inch single edged blade with two 20 inch fullers below the spine and worn maker's mark on one side. Engraved silver crossguard of typical form. Silver-mounted grip with horn gripscales. Silver scabbard decorated with chased repousse florals overall.
Condition: Blade has been cleaned and shows scattered scratches. Gripscales showing wear and age cracks. Scabbard with scattered marks.
