An Indian tulwar
18th century

Curved 30 1/2 inch blade showing traces of two incised marks. Silver-plated hilt with some gilt highlights, the block cast and chased with florals and beaded borders, short quillons, knucklebow with double headed zoomorphic terminal, dished pommel with fluted top. With original rose velour-covered scabbard retaining the pierced and chased silver mounts.
Condition: Blade heavily cleaned and showing areas of light pitting. Hilt with some losses to silvered decoration. Scabbard with wear and losses to fabric covering.
