A silver-mounted Nepalese kothimora kukri
late 19th century

The 13 1/2 inch blade of somewhat slender form with double fullers below the spine. Hilt of green horn carved with central meander panel below two rings. Flat iron pommel cap. Leather-covered scabbard with fine silver mounts, the throat pierced and chased with florals, the chape chased with scrollwork and wave pattern bands flanked by beaded borders. Front of throat affixed with large silver ring retaining braided silver suspension cord. Reverse of scabbard with two associated wood-gripped side knives in separated leather scabbards.
Condition: Blade probably cleaned and showing scattered small pits. Grip showing some age cracking. Scabbard with some scuffing, the mounts with minor marks.
