A Malaysian spear
late 19th century

Broad 15 inch blade with tapered point and median ridge extending to a molded hexagonal panel, the fluted and banded neck of octagonal section; 5 1/2 inch molded brass ferrule; original 95 inch rosewood haft of tapered and extremely flexible form; base with 5 inch iron foot.
Condition: Metal with dark age patina, the head with some light pitting. Haft with minor marks.
