A lot of five Philippine Island spears
late 19th/early 20th century

Comprising: 1)Moro example with 11 inch leaf-shaped blade above an elaborately plaited mount/ferrule, the sides stiffened with bamboo; original 56 inch bamboo haft. 2) Another, 11 inch leaf-shaped blade on squared and molded neck; brass ferrule; heavy 68 inch hardwood haft. 3) Another, 11 head on tapered neck; brass ferrule; heavy 68 inch hardwood haft. 4) Igorot fangkao, 10 inch blade with median ridge; iron ferrule above two plaited rattan bands; original 53 inch haft with iron foot. 5) Another, 8 inch head; iron ferrule; 52 inch haft with iron foot.
Condition: Metal with dark patina and areas of pitting. Hafts showing scattered marks but generally very sound. 1) Rattan with breaks and losses, the head loose.
