A lot of four Moro spears, budiak
southern Philippines, late 19th/early 20th century

Comprising: 1) 8 inch leaf-shaped head with tapered neck above molded base; original 73 inch haft with 9 1/2 inch banded brass ferrule below the head, lower end inlet for foot, now missing. 2) 13 inch leaf-shaped head above a molded neck; original 69 inch haft with 7 inch banded brass ferrule. 3) 13 inch leaf-shaped blade with strong median ridge; original 52 inch bamboo haft, the 5 inch brass or copper ferrule with plaited rattan bands. 4) 11 inch blade molded with curved fullers, banded neck; original 66 inch bamboo haft with plaited rattan ferrules flanking a single iron ring.
Condition: 1), 2) and 3) with old discolored lacquer finish. 4) Minor pitting, chip to one edge. Hafts showing scattered marks and wear.
