A lot of four Igorot war spears
northern Luzon, late 19th/early 20th century

Comprising: 1) Fayyan, 22 inch leaf-shaped blade with long curved flukes at the base; original 42 inch haft with 10 inch iron foot. 2) Falfeg, 7 inch barbed head of typical form with 6 1/2 inch neck and mounted on original 41 inch wooden haft. (missing the foot) 3) Another, 6 inch blade with 5 inch neck, original 52 inch haft, the upper end bound in plaited rattan, the lower end with iron foot. 4) Another, of variant form, the 5 inch head on a flared neck of squared section, the lower end pierced with a single hole; original 59 inch bamboo haft, the upper end wrapped in rattan, the lower end tapered for a foot, now missing.
Condition: Blades with areas of light pitting, 4) with old lacquer coating.
