A horn-mounted Visayan Islands tenegre
central Philippines, late 19th/early 20th century

The 18 1/2 inch single edged blade flaring toward the point and with beveled edge on one side. Thick, circular guard of green horn. Long iron ferrule. Upper grip/pommel of dark green horn carved as a monster head and with panels of florals and checkering.
Condition: Blade with patches of minor pitting/spotting. Guard with small age crack. Pommel with small patch of insect damage.
