A marine ivory and silver-mounted Moro keris
southern Philippines, probably early 20th century

Having a 23 inch thirteen curve blade with integral guard and single engraved copper stirrup. The grip, originally for a barong, formed of molded copper bands alternating with grooved and engraved silver bands. Marine ivory cockatoo pommel with long scrolling finial.
Condition: Blade with minor scratches and small spots of light pitting. Probably composite as noted above.
