A lot of three Philippine panaba
southern Philippines, late 19th/early 20th century

Comprising: 1) 18 1/2 inch curved blade, the sharpened point wrought with a small hooked scroll in front of the spine; iron-banded wooden grip; original wooden scabbard missing the binding. 2) 16 1/2 inch blade; grip bound in copper and German silver bands; long banded wooden pommel of octagonal section. 3) 15 inch blade; rattan-wrapped grip with plaited rattan ferrules; wooden pommel carved with scrollwork and banding tinted with white paint.
Condition: Blade of 1) and 2) showing patches of light pitting. Blade of 3) with dark patina and old lacquer (?) coating. Hilts very good and showing scattered wear and marks.
