The car is set throughout, including underbelly, engine and interior, with more than 2,700 round brilliant and baguette cut diamonds weighing 22.94 carats in total, including blue and black diamonds (diamonds not tested for origin of color) and ruby taillights. The gemstones are mounted in eighteen karat gold with enamel accents, and were assembled from thirteen die cast parts with functioning wheels and hood. The Hot Wheels® logo is emblazoned of either door and engraved in white gold on the underbelly. Measures 77mm long by 31mm wide by 13-23mm tall
The car was originally designed by Mattel designer, Otto Kuhni, for use on the original Hot Wheels® packaging in the late 1960s. The car's design was based on a combination of all the trend muscle cars seen on the streets at that time. The car is referred to as the "lost Hot Wheels®," by the in-house Hot Wheels® design team, as it was never produced in die-cast form.
Comes with custom-made presentation case, which displays the jewel-encrusted vehicle on a rotating base, complete with mirrored bottom and flashing white lights. The cover opens to reveal an LED display with video and photos of the car's production and is accented by forty individual bezel-set round brilliant-cut diamonds, signifying each year in the legacy of Hot Wheels®.
