[REVOLUTIONARY WAR.]

Manuscript Letter, 1 p, oblong 8vo, [Boston], 11 December 1775, written in the third person from Dr Gardiner to General Robinson, some creasing, else fine.

The Tory Dr. Gardiner broaches the topic of payment for the use of his house during the Siege of Boston. In full: "Dr Gardiner presents his compliments to General Robinson and send[s] him the keys of his house in Long Lane (as he desires) lately occupied by Genl Smith. As the rebells have all Dr Gardiners Estate both real and personal, except the few houses in this Town (Boston) which are all he has to live on, he hopes General Robinson, will not take it amiss, that Dr Gardiner charges him the usual Rent for it; which is the rate of thirty pounds per annum."
