EINSTEIN, ALBERT. 1879-1955.

Photograph Signed (“A. Einstein”), 9 by 8¾ inch gelatin silver print by Yousuf Karsh, signed by Einstein in the lower margin with a two-line inscription, few creases to photograph, matted and framed to 15 x 14½ inches.

Iconic photograph of Einstein by Yousuf Karsh [1908-2002] from their 1948 session. This portrait is nearly identical to the one that Karsh included in his Portraits of Greatness, but in this image Einstein is smiling. Karsh's credit stamp is on the verso. Einstein's inscription is a blessing on the recipient.
