1. Abraham Lincoln: 1809-1858. Boston & New York: 1928. 4 volumes. 4to. Original half cloth over boards. Light shelfwear, otherwise very fine.
Manuscript edition of 1,000, publisher’s copy with page of Beveridge’s manuscript tipped at all edges to preliminary leaf. Additionally signed and inscribed to Roger Barrett by Worthington Chauncey Ford, the historian who prepared Beveridge’s manuscript for publication after the author’s death; together with an Autograph Note Signed of Ford to Oliver Barrett and a Typed Letter Signed from Houghton-Mifflen sending on the present copy.
2. Abraham Lincoln: 1809-1858. Boston & New York: 1928. 2 volumes. 4to. Glit lettered blue cloth. Shelfwear.
First trade edition, inscribed on the front free endpaper to Oliver Barrett by Worthington Chauncey Ford, September 7, 1928 (two weeks before publication), with ANS of Ford to Oliver Barrett, 1 p, 12mo, Chicago, [January 6, 1929], on Union League Club stationery, responding to invite.
3. The Life of John Marshall. Boston & New York: [1916]. 4 volumes. 4to. Original gilt-lettered green cloth, dust jackets. Minor shelfwear to books, jackets unevenly toned, some chipping and cuts to all, loss to heads of spines of Vols I and III.
First edition, inscribed to Oliver Barrett on half-title, May 2, 1923.
