GEORGE III, KING OF ENGLAND. 1738-1820.

Document Signed (“George R”), 1 p, folio, Court at St. James, May 4, 1771, appointing William Axtell as Council of the Province of New York, also signed by Lord Hillsborough, with integral address leaf directing document to the attention of William Tryon, leaves creased and mildly spotted, address leaf reinforced at all edges.

A fine example of correspondence from the King to a colonial governor.
