Photograph Signed (“Ch. Darwin”), 2½ by 4 inch albumen print carte-de-visite, portrait of Darwin, signed on the verso and dated June 1864, some spotting to mount, otherwise fine, with original autograph transmittal envelope additionally initialed and inscribed to interior (“With compliments & Thanks – C.D.”), some thumbing and soiling to envelope, flap torn not affecting inscription.

A handsome example of a signed Darwin photograph mailed by the scientist himself to Clair J. Grece of Redhill, Surrey.
