HEMINGWAY, ERNEST. 1899-1961.

HEMINGWAY'S READING LIST.
Autograph Letter Signed (“Ernest Hemingway”), 2 pp recto and verso, 4to, Ketchum, ID, October 27, 1958, to Mr. Palmer, regarding an order of books, leaf creased horizontally and vertically, minor spotting to p 1, otherwise fine.

Hemingway writes to a bookseller asking him to track down several books for him: “Will you please get a 2nd hand or other copy of Desperate Men as soon as practical and have it air-mailed here. Will you also please get hold of a copy of Scouting on Two Continents by Burnham and have it air-mailed. It was published at one time by Doubleday. I would like to have a good copy as well as the Dollar edition copy but that can wait.” He also asks for copies of Our Man in Havana by Graham Greene, a biography of Steven Vincent Benet, and multiple copies of his own books, some of which, Palmer indicates in pencil, are out of print.
