A New Map of America from the latest Observations. [London, 1719-1721.] Copper-engraved map, hand-colored in outline, 485 x 566 mm. Edges and centerfold reinforced on verso repairing some short tears and nicks and wear to top right edge.

Attractive map of the Americas depicting California as an island. Fine cartouche incorporating parrots and cannibals. In addition to the insular California, shows the large fictitious Lake of Thoago or Thoya in the northwest. Leighly 155; McLaughlin 193.
